Tirumala, 11 September 2015: TTD Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy on Friday reiterated that the purpose of performing Kareeristhi is to seek good rains by appeasing rain God Varuna.

The Chairman took part in Kareeristhi here along with the members of his family. The Ritwiks performed Rushyasringa Homam, Adharwana Parayanam.

Pradhana Ritwik of Yagam Sri Vishwanatha Gopala Krishna Shastry, Vedic Scholars Sri Vadlamani, Sri Kasipathi, Sri Chirravuri Srirama Sharma, Sri Phaniyajulu were also present.

Earlier in the morning, Tirumala Jeo Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju also took part in this celestial Homam.
