GOVINDA RAJA TAKES PLEASANT RIDE ON CELESTIAL FLOAT

Tirupati, 16 February 2016: The annual float festival of the famous Lord Govindaraja Swamy in the temple city of Tirupati commenced on a religious note on Tuesday evening in the holy temple tank.

This religious fete will be conducted from February 16 to February 22 for seven days by TTD.

On the first day evening, the processional deities Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy, Sita Devi, Lakshmana Swamy and Anjaneya took celestial ride for five times in the sacred waters of temple tank on the finely decked float.

While on the second day on February 17, Sri Parthasaradhi Swamy will take five rounds, on February 18 Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy will take five rounds, on February 19 Sri Krishna Swamy Varu rides along with Andal Ammavaru takes celestial ride for five rounds while from February 20-22, Sri Govindaraja Swamy Varu flanked by His two divine consorts takes pleasure ride in seven rounds on the last three days.

Special programmes such as bhajans, annamaiah sankeerthanas have been arranged by TTDs Dharma Prachara Parishad, Annamacharya Project during these days.
