GRAND PAVITHROTSAVAM COMMENCES AT SRI PAT

Tirupati, 14 September 2016: The holiest of the Vaishnavite festivals commenced today at Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Tiruchanoor with religious fervor and devotion flavour.

As part of the event Suprabatham and Sahasra archana was performed for the Goddess Padmavathi this morning and later the utsava idols were taken to Yaga shala. After the rituals of Dwara Thorana, Dhwaja Kumbha Avahanam, Chakdradhi Mandala puja and Chathursthanarchana, Agri Pratistha and Pavitra Pratistha were performed.

In the afternoon snapana thirumanjanam was performed for Sri Padmavathi at the Sri Krishnaswami mandapam. Abhishekam was performed in holy water with turmeric, sandal, milk, curd, honey, coconut water and varieties of fruits. Interested devotees were also allowed to participate in the event with a token ticket of Rs.750 (for each devotee for three days) and were offered two laddus and two vadas as prasadam.
