“HASSLE FREE DARSHAN, ACCOMMODATION, TONSURE, LADDU PRASADAMS OUR TOP PRIORITY”-TTD EO

Tirupati, 18 May 2015: Providing hassle free darshan, accommodation, tonsuring, laddu prasadams to multitude of visiting pilgrims is our top priority, said TTD EO Dr D Samba Siva Rao.

Addressing media persons in Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati on Monday evening, the EO said, TTD has brought revolutionary changes by adopting transparent mechanisms in providing darshan, accommodation, tonsuring and laddu prasadams to the scores of pilgrims.

“We have stream lined Rs.300 and Rs.50 advance on-line booking system, enhanced transparency in accommodation allotment by making continuous announcements in Tirumala about vacancy of rooms every hour, improvement of PACs, introduced system of allotting additional laddus within the compartments for the convenience of the pilgrims and revamped the entire system in Kalyana Katta tonsuring area also. We are contemplating to allot laddu tokens through on-line itself for those who book Rs.300 and Rs.50 tickets on-line on payment of an additional charge of Rs.50 for each category for two laddus”, he maintained.

Elaborating on developmental programmes in Tirupati, the EO said, “We have now focused on improving the amenities in BIRRD and SVIMS hospitals and sanctioned Rs.25cr and Rs.35cr respectively towards the development of these two hospitals. We are also planning to bring a Tertiary Eye Care Hospital in Tirupati and negotiating with top three eye hospitals in the country”, he maintained.

ACTION TAKEN ON GUILTY-TTD EO

TTD Executive Officer Dr D Samba Siva Rao said, action has been taken against three regular staffs and two contract employees who were allegedly found guilty in Vigilance Inquiry for having involved in Laddu Tokens scandal.

Briefing media persons in Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati on Monday evening, the EO said, the TTD vigilance sleuths have caught hold of 1750 tokens during their investigation. “I have already suspended three regular and removed two contract employees. Sri Kodanda Rama Rao, Deputy EO Reception I has been appointed as Inquiry Officer in this case and further action will be taken after completion of the investigation”, he maintained.
