HEAVY RUSH IN TIRUMALA

Tirumala, 17 August 2014: The hill town of Tirumala has been witnessing heavy pilgrim rush owning to series of Holidays and auspicious marriage muhurats in the abode of Lord Venkateswara from the past three days and touched the pinnacle on Sunday with all the serpentine queue lines extending up to few miles from the main temple complex.

With the heavy rush for Sarva Darshan pilgrims it is taking nearly 30 hours, for foot path pilgrims about 16 hours and for Rs.300 special entry darshan pilgrims over 10 hours. Owing to heavy rush TTD has stopped issuing of Rs.300 darshan tickets by 8am itself on Sunday. However on Saturday, TTD has set a new record by providing darshan to 21295 pilgrims under Rs.300 darshan.

As the rush is expected to continue even on Monday which happens to be a holiday because of Janmasthami, TTD EO Sri MG Gopal has issued instructions to cancel VIP break darshan on Monday.

Meanwhile TTD Temple Deputy EO Sri C Ramana, Annadanam Deputy EO Sri Venugopal, Health Officer Sri Venkatramana personally monitored the queue lines and provided all facilities to see that the pilgrims are not put to inconvenience.
