INDIAN ANCIENT MEDICINE REVAMPED IN TTD

Tirumala, 8 October 2016: Ayurveda is the traditional Hindu system of medicine incorporated in Atharva Veda, the last of the four Vedas, which is based on the idea of balance in bodily systems and uses diet, herbal treatment, and yogic breathing as the prominent tools of treatment.

HIGH STANDARDS MAINTAINED BY TTD

Being the custodian of Hindu Sanatana Dharma, the temple management of TTD helps to revive and bring back the past glory to this one of most ancient medical treatments in the world invented in India some thousands of years ago by sages.

REVIVING THE ANCIENT MEDICAL TREATMENT

According to Dr Bhaskar Rao, the In-charge vice principal of the S V Ayurvedic College and Ayurvedic Hospital run by TTD, “We have the best and internationally acclaimed, research oriented treatment of “Charusutra vidhanam” for fistula in the TTD Ayurveda hospital. “Rendering free service as part of a Srivari Seva, with free provision of medicine and also treatment to devotees, patients who come from all over the country”, he said.

MEDICINAL HERBS GROWN IN TTD FARM

“We generate 50 rare Ayurveda medicinal herbs and which are grown in our farm and some from the plants available in the Tirumala forests. We also procure raw material from all over country and TTD has budgeted a Rs.2 crore fund for the entire Ayurveda service every year”, he said .

GLOBAL IDENTITY FOR TTD AYUR SERVICES

Dr. Rao says, “Our specialty treatments like Panchakarma, Charusutra Vidhanam and Dhara chikitsa(for infants)have acceptance all over the world. Particularly the Charu Sutra vidhanam treatment for Fistula and other skin diseases has been international acclaimed and has no substitutes. The Dhara Chikitsa for children also has no parallels in the world of medicare. We can cure fistula in a 5-30 day duration”, he asserted.

STATE OF ART EQUIPMENT

The TTD Ayurveda hospital has an out patient flow of 100-200 per day and also 200 inpatients. “We offer free medicare to patients in our 60 bed hospital and the SV Ayurvedic college has eight departments and 40 member experienced staff. We also have advanced equipment and necessary raw materials for Ayurveda medicine preparations.

FROM SIXTY BED TO 300 BED

Asked about future plans for Ayurveda Hospital, Dr rao said plans were afoot to increase the bed strength of Ayurveda hospital to 300 and also create a separate research and development wing. “We have huge potential to prepare drugs and treatment processes for all life threatening diseases at SV Ayurveda hospital and college”, he added.
