IT’S A SPIRITUAL FLORAL EXTRAVAGANZA IN VIZAG!
Vizag, 26 July 2014: The denizens of Vizag were totally out of this world when they witnessed the floral bath that was rendered to the processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamya and His two Consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi as a part of Pushpayaga Mahotsavam that took place in Swarna Bharathi Auditorium in Vizag on Saturday evening.
Pushpa Yagam is the annual fete in the temple of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala which is usually performed soon after the completion of annual brahmotsavams in the month of Karthika as per Hindu calendar in the asterism of Sravanam.
On Saturday evening, the deities were placed on specially arranged platform and snapanam (holy bath) with varieties of colourful and florescent flowers has been performed much to the admiration of the tens of thousands of devotees.
Nearly five tones of flowers, including lilies, roses, crysanthimum, mogali etc. have been used to render floral tributes to the deities. It is a rare glimpse to witness the grandeur of the deities who were immersed in neck depth in the sea of flower bed. The Pushpayagam took place between 5pm to 7pm.
Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar, Garden Deputy Superintendent Sri Srinivasulu and others were also present.
