JEERNODHARANA AT AMNAKSHIYAMMA TEMPLE ON AUGUST 14
Tirupati, 12 August 2014: The Jeernodharana – Mahakumbhabhisheka Mahotsavam in TTD-run sub shrine of Amnakshiyamma at Narayanavanam will take place on August 14.
This temple which is a sub-temple of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy of Naryanavanam and came under the control of TTDs in the year 1967. Amnakshiyamma temple and the presiding deity was believed to have set up by none other than the Lord of Creation-Chaturmukha Brahma. As per the temple legend the significance of the presiding deity is that the Goddess is considered to have Vedas as Her Eyes. That means She is often worshiped as “Preserver of Vedas”.
Meanwhile the Jeernodharana programme will take place between 9am to 10.30am in Kanya Lagnam on August 14 and Navakundatmaka Pooja, Japa-Homa, Astabandhana and Mahakumbhabhishekam will be performed as per Saivagama.
The Goddess will take celestial ride on Sarvabhupala Vahana on the same day evening on this occasion. After the religious event the local devotees will be allowed for Darshan. Deputy EO Sri P Harindranath, Superintendent Reddy Suresh will also participate in this religious event.
