JEO INSPECTS NEW TOKEN ALLOTMENT SYSTEM IN CRO

Tirumala, 12 Jul. 17: With a view to reduce long waiting hours in queue lines for accommodation, TTD has introduced token issuing system which has come into force on Wednesday. Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju inspected the registration and allotment counters in CRO.
Speaking to media persons, the JEO said, TTD has set up 10 counters for registration and 7 counters for allotment in CRO and one counter each for registration and allotment in MBC-34 in this new system. “As per the new system, Pilgrims has to register their name with Aadhaar card besides finger print will also be captured along with valid mobile number. Pilgrims are provided two tariff options to choose for registration with A-Category comprising rooms tariff ranging between Rs.50-Rs.250 and B-Category including rooms with tariff between Rs.500 to Rs.1000. This registration process will be done in two slots at 6am and 2pm.
Elaborating further the JEO said, after the registration process, a token will be issued which contains registration number, name and mobile number of the pilgrim along with expected time of allotment besides sending SMS to the pilgrim regarding registration confirmation. “Very soon we will be sending the SMS to the pilgrims in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada besides English for those belonging to respective states”, he added.
The JEO said “Rooms will be allotted to the pilgrim based on the registration sequence and choice of tariff whenever the room vacancy arises. Pilgrims should invariably avail the rooms within 30 minutes from the time of allotment or else rooms will get automatically cancelled and will be allotted to the immediate pilgrim in the sequence. This is the best system we have emerged out for the sake of pilgrims in the common pool of accommodation allotment. Apart from this the incentives to the pilgrims for vacation of rooms within 12 hours and 18 hours is also yielding good results”, he maintained.
Meanwhile a pilgrim Sri Prakash from Ongole expressed his pleasure and welcomed the innovative move of TTD. “‘Every time when I come to Tirumala I used to wait for hours in queue lines to procure room. But with the new system I got SMS to my mobile number, that I have allotted room in Rambhageecha Rest House. I secured the room within couple of hours. Thanks to TTD mandarins for this pro-pilgrim initiative and transparent measure”, he added.
