JEO INSPECTS QUEUE LINES IN TIRUMALA

Tirumala, May 25, 2014: In the wake heavy pilgrim turn out following summer vacation week end, Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju inspected the serpentine queue lines in Tirumala on Sunday along with other officials.

Speaking to media persons, he said, the footpath route pilgrims have crossed over 60 thousands in the last two days and it is taking almost 18 hours for the Divya Darshan(footpath) pilgrims and 30 hours for Sarva Darshan(free) pilgrims. “Even there is dearth of accommodation as all the cottages have been alloted to pilgrims. The situation is expected to continue for the next week also since most of the institutions will be re-opening on June 2. The pilgrims are therefore
requested to co-operate with the TTD”, he added.

Meanwhile the JEO instructed the different heads including Engineering, Annaprasadam, Health, Vigilance and other departments to be alert round the clock and see that pilgrims are not put inconvenience. He also directed to supply food in queue lines, compartments and in Annaprasadam complex till late midnight.

On the other hand about 9251 Srivari Seva volunteers rendered free services to the pilgrims so far starting from May 1 to May 25 among whom 6576 are female volunteers and 2675 are male volunteers. These volunteers offered pilgrims free services in the areas of Annaprasadam, Health, queue lines, Kalyanakatta, Luggage Centres etc.
