JEO REVIEWS TUMBURU TEERTHAM AND SUMMER RUSH ARRANGEMENTS

Tirupati, 31 March 2017: Tirumala Jeo Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju has reviewed the arrangements to be made for the Tumburu Teertha Mukkoti which is scheduled for April 11 and ensuing summer rush in the temple town of Tirumala.
ARRANGEMENTS REVIEWED:

The review meeting with various departmental heads was held at the camp office of JEO in Gokulam Rest House in Tirumala on Friday evening. The Jeo instructed the departments especially Engineering, Forest, Vigilance, Annaprasadam and Health departments on the measures and arrangements to be made for the big religious event on April 10 and 11.

PRIORITY FROM THE LAST FEW YEARS:

The Jeo said, though the fete is not directly related to Tirumala temple, as Tumburu Teertham is considered to be one of most sacred water bodies of the three crore and odd torrents believed to be present in the lush green forests of seshachalam ranges in Tirumala, TTD has been considering the fete keeping in view the increasing pilgrim rush. “This is located at about 9km from Tirumala shrine. As this coincides on Phalguna Pournima day, the pilgrim inflow has increased from the past few years. So we are taking extra attention to make the event a smooth one, especially after the 2014 forest fire accident”, JEO observed.

TWO LAKHS WATER AND 80K BUTTER MILK PACKETS:

He has instructed the Health and Annaprasadam wings to keep ready Two Lakh water and 80 thousand butter milk packets ready to distribute to the pilgrims as more than 30-35 thousand pilgrims are expected to take part in this fete. “During last year the figures touched almost 30 thousands and this year we should be prepared with five thousands more. Two Pulihora, one curd rice, four water sachets should be put in a carry bag and should be given to each pilgrim. As the pilgrims will start to Tumburu teertham a day before, the deployed staffs from respective departments should be in their duty points in the teertham on April 9 itself. A team of officers comprising all departments should visit the teertham on April 6 to study to make necessary arrangements. A final review meeting will be on April 8 before which all arrangements should be completed”, he asserted.

NO FOOD COOKING BY OUTSIDERS:

The Jeo has clearly instructed the vigilance, forest and fire departments not to permit any one to cook their own food in the Teertham. “The food arrangements will be made by our Annaprasadam wing alone and outsiders would not be permitted. Keeping the past experience of the forest fire which has erupted after Tumburu Teertham in 2014, the pilgrims are banned from carrying cooking articles. The officers should thoroughly check Mamandur, Karakambadi, Balapalli roads as public come to Tumburu teertham via these routes”, he added.

PAS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

He instructed the radio and broad casting wing to make continuous announcements on the precautionary measures including ban of cooking by outsiders, to reach Tumburu Teertham only via Papavinasanam route and not from Mamandur etc. for the sake of the safety of the pilgrims.

ELABORATE SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS:

The Jeo also instructed the vigilance wing officials to deploy men at different points all through the route from Papavinasanam to Tumburu Teertham and also instructed to negotiate with Tirumala police on security arrangements.

ENGINEERING ARRANGEMENTS:

He has directed the engineering wing to make necessary arrangements to enable the pilgrims to safely reach their destination.

AMBULANCE VANS: He has also instructed to keep ready three ambulance vans in the case of any emergency.
