JYESTHABHISHEKAM IN TIRUMALA FROM JUNE 11-13

Tirumala, 4 June 2014: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is set to celebrate Srivari Annual Jyestha Abhishekam Festival for three days from June 11-13.

Usually this festival is observed in the month of Jyestha Masam(June/July) every year at Srivari Temple, Tirumala.

The Jyestha Abhishekam is also known as Abhideyaka Abhishekam. Srivari Jyestha Abhishekam begins on the day of Shukla Tryodasi of Jyestha Masam and concludes on Full Moon Day of Jyestha Masam.

The essential purpose of the Jyestha Abhishekam is to protect the Utsava Deities – Sri Malayappa Swamy, Goddess Sridevi and Goddess Bhudevi from damage which might occur during Processions that take place all through the year during various religious events. Snapana Tirumanjanam is performed during these three days and Lord Malayappa Swamy blesses His devotees in Vajra Kavacham, Muthyapu Kavacham and Swarna Kavacham on these three days.

TTD has cancelled arjitha sevas including Sahasra Kalasabhishekam and Vasanthotsavam on first day, Tiruppavada and Vasanthotsavam on second day and Nija Pada Darshanam, Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam and Vasanthotsavam on final day following this three day festival.
