KAISIKA DWADASI OBSERVED IN KANDADAI

Tirupati, 4 November 2014: The auspicious festival of Mangala Kaisika Dwadasi has been observed with religious fervour in the village of Kandadai located at Erpedu Mandal on Tuesday, about 40km from Tirupati.

The Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar who participated in the festival also took part in the Go Pooja and Tulasi Pooja performed on this festive occasion in this remote village.

Addressing the occasion the JEO said, this is the day on which Lord Maha Vishnu woke up from his celestial sleep after a devotee, Nambaduvan(Satyamurthi) dedicated a song in “Kaisika” Ragam and attained salvation.”, he added.

Th JEO said, TTD along with AP Endowments Departments has all set to conduct Sixth Phase of Managudi on November 6 in around 54,300 temples across the states of AP, TS, TN and Karnataka. “You all should voluntarily take part in the Alaya Suddhi, Dhoopa-Deepa programmes in your respective local temples in a big way and make the programme a grand success. This is not a one day activity. The spirit should remain in you forever”, he added.

Later HDPP Special Officer Sri S Raghunath said, “Today Mangala Kaisika Dwadasi is observed in 12 dalitwadas in our district and 230 dalitwadas across the states of AP and TS”.

Village Sarpanch Sri Veera Reddy, Village Dalit leader Sri Munaiah, villagers were also present.

Meanwhile kolatam teams and bhajan troupes sang and performed their folk arts with grace.
