KALYANAM PROVIDES A CELESTIAL VISUAL FEAST TO DENIZENS
Tirupati, 6 April 2017: The Sita Rama Kalyanam at Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple in Tirupati provided visual feast to hundreds of devotees who took part in the fete on Thursday evening.
The grand wedding of the divine couple took place in a finely decked kalyana Vedika in the temple premises between 6pm and 8pm under the supervision of Agama Advisor Sri P Sitaramacharyulu.
SIGNIFICANCE OF KALYANAM:
In Hindu religion, Lord Rama is considered as the embodiment and personification of all the great sixteen virtues and a role model as a son, brother, husband, ruler etc. The companionship of Rama and Sita depicts how to lead an ideal marital life.
Sita Rama Kalyanam is performed every year to sustain the life on the earth with the belief that Lord Rama brings spring rains and the mother Sita who is born to mother earth gives us the fertile land to cultivate for the best crops to feed the world.
The Kalyanam ceremony (divine union) represents union of Mother Sita (individual jiva) and Lord Rama (Supreme Self) though devotion. Jiva can only be united with Self through devotion or unbroken love for Lord. To rediscover our Oneness is the source of all happiness and fulfillment and purpose of our human birth.
The devotees were enthralled to witness the celestial couple in their blissful wedding ceremony. Later Mutyala Talambralu packets were also distributed.
Sita Rama Kalyanam was also performed in the ancient temple of Sri Pattabhi Ramalayam in Valmikipuram on Thursday evening.
TTD Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar, temple DyEO Smt Munilakshmi, Superintendent Sri Umamaheswara Reddy and other officials were also present.
