“LADDU DISTRIBUTION IN A HYGIENIC WAY”-TTD EO

Tirumala, 28 November 2015: In yet another initiative TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao instructed the officials concerned to issue gloves to srivari sevakulu to issue laddus to the pilgrims in a hygienic manner.

The EO inspected the potu inside the temple, laddu counters in the laddu issuing complex, PAC II in Tirumala on Saturday.

Later speaking to media persons in laddu complex, he said, with the ever floating population in Tirumala, TTD is very keen in maintaining and implementing proper sanitation and hygienic environs. “To avoid spread of contagious diseases, recently we have commenced serving food in annaprasadam complex by the staffs and srivari sevakulu wearing gloves. Similarly we implement the same in laddu prasadam distribution counters also. Henceforth the srivari sevakulu and staff in the counters will distribute the laddus to pilgrims wearing gloves”,he added.

He said, some repair works inside potu including the fitting of exhaust fans, some minor civil works have been completed. Even in the laddu counters, now pilgrims can take laddus from any counter. For better efficiency and transparency we have been running eight laddu counters with srivari sevakulu. We want these counters to be role model to others. In future we would like to increase the number to 12 counters”, he added.

He later inspected the PAC II and said all the geysers will be made functional for the sake of the pilgrims in all the reset houses in Tirumala with the advent of winter season.

Temple DyEO Sri C Ramana, SE II Sri Ramachandra Reddy, Health Officer Dr Shermistha, AEO Potu Sri Ashok and other officials were also present.
