LAKSHMI HARAM SHOBHA YATRA PERFORMED

TIRUMALA JEO HANDS OVER THE PRECIOUS JEWEL TO HIS TIRUPATI JEO

TIRUPATI, 12 December 2015: The Lakshmi Kasula Haram-One of the most important and precious jewels in the treasury of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala, was brought to Tirupati in a ceremonious way to be adorned to Goddess Padmavathi for Gaja Vahanam on Saturday.

SHOBHA YATRA FROM PASUPU MANDAPAM:

Earlier in Tirumala, a procession of the jewel was held around the four mada streets and later it was brought down to Tirupati in a vehicle amidst tight security. Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju received the jewel at Urban Haat in Tirupati and carried it in a procession upto Pasupu Mandapam and handed over it to his Tirupati counterpart Sri Pola Bhaskar. From that point Shobha Yatra has been performed and the temple staff received the jewel at the entrance of Padmavathi temple in Tiruchanoor.

WILL BE DECORATED TO GODDESS OF RICHES:

Meanwhile Tirumala JEO said, this lakshmi kasula haram which is usually adorned to Lord Malayappa Swamy in Tirumala during Pournami Garuda Seva day, will be decorated to His beloved consort on the most important occasion of Gaja Vahana Seva during the ongoing Navahnika Karthika Brahmotsavams at Tiruchanoor.

TIGHT SECURITY:

On the other hand Tirupati JEO said, tight security arrangements have been made for Gaja Vahanam on fifth day evening. “The vigilance in co-ordination with police will take all measures to see that no untoward incident take place during the mega religious event”, Mr Bhaskar added.
