LORD TAKES RIDE ON ASWA VAHANAM ON SECOND DAY OF PADMAVATHI PARINAYAM

Tirumala, 9 May 14: The Second Day of the three day religious event of Padmavathi Parinayam has been observed with religious fervour in Tirumala on Friday evening.

Among the three days, day two is considered to be more auspicious since it happens to be Vaishakha Suddha Dasami as per Hindu almanac which also happens to be the exact wedding date of Goddess Padmavathi and Lord Srinivasa as per puranas.

On the Second day, lord took celestial ride on Aswa Vahana accompanied by His two consorts Sri Devi and Bhu Devi on other palanquin and reached the colourfully decorated Parinaya Mandapam in Narayanagiri Gardens.

Traditional Hindu Wedding Ceremony events including Edurkolu, Pubanthata etc took place. Later Unjal seva to deities was performed. Special devotional programmes arranged by Annamacharya project stood as special attraction. Later in the night crackers were burnt much to the amusement of multitude of pilgrims who converged to witness the special glitters in the black sky. After this event, the deities were taken back to the temple.
