LORD TAKES RIDE ON CELESTIAL ASWA ON PENULTIMATE DAY

Srinivasa Mangapuram, 17 February 2015: On the penultimate day of annual Brahmotsavams of Srinivasa Mangapuram, the Lord Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy took celestial ride on the sacred Aswa vahanam on Tuesday evening.

As per the legendary, Hayagriva is also considered an avatar of Vishnu. He is worshipped as the God of knowledge and wisdom, with a human body and a horse’s head, brilliant white in color, with white garments and seated on a white lotus. Symbolically, the story represents the triumph of pure knowledge, guided by the hand of God, over the demonic forces of passion and darkness.

In Hinduism, Horse is a symbol for strength, wisdom and speed. The last and final incarnation of Lord Sri Maha Vishnu is Kalki, where the warrior prince rides on divine white horse to protect the world from bad elements. The Lord on Aswa VAHANAM is therefore rightly described as “Defender of faith”, the “Terrible executioner” who protects the universe from evil forces.
