MAGNIFICENT ANANTHA PADMANABHA VRATHAM IN TIRUMALA

Tirumala, 15 September 2016: As part of vedic traditions the holy ritual of Ananta Padmanabha swami vratam was performed on Shukla Chaturdashi of Bhadrapada Masam at Srivari Temple this morning.

The holy event commenced in early hours today with the Srivari Sudarshan Chakrathalvars taken out of Srivari Temple to the Swami Pushkarini adjacent to the Sri Bhuvaraha Swami temple where special pujas were performed. The utsava idols will be brought back to temple after the rituals.

Later the vrata kankanam of Sri Ananta Padmanabha swami were offered at the sannidhi of Sri Venkateswara swami and archana was performed. The Kankanam were later worn by the temple priests, officials and others.

TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, JEO Sri Pola Bhaskar, Srivari Temple DyEO Sri Kodandarama Rao, Peiskar Sri Selvam and temple priests and officials of Srivari Temple would participate in the event.
