TTD TO OBSERVE 2015 AS THE “YEAR OF GOSAMRAKSHANA”
TIRUPATI, JAN 6: The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTDs) which is committed to bring back past glory to cow population especially to indigenous cows, has decided to observe the 2015 as the “Year of Gosamrakshana”, said TTD Joint Executive Officer, Tirupati Sri P Bhaskar.
Reviewing with the members of Dharma Prachara Mandalis (DPMs) of Chittoor distirct at SVETA bhavan in Tirupati on Tuesday, the TTD JEO said, TTD will observe “Managudi – Gopuja”, a special event dedicated to worship “Gowmata” on the festival occasion of Kanuma which falls on 16th of January, across 260 Goshalas located in the states of AP and TS.
“The farmers need to be enlightened on this novel and noble religious event by DPMs at their respective places. The dairy farmer who performs the best “Gopuja” will be presented with Rs.10,000 at the state level and one who excels best at the district level with Rs.5, 000as a token of appreciation”, he maintained.
Later speaking on this occasion, the HDPP Special Officer Sri Raghunath said, every DPM members should come forward in enlightening farmers about the importance of cow worship and also the “Pancha Gavya” products. He appreciated the gesture of ISKCON who is all set to perform “Gopuja” in all 634 centres across the world on this auspicious day.
SV Goshala Director Dr Harinath Reddy, TTD PRO Sri T Ravi, ISKCON PRO Sri Leela Parayana Das and others were also present.
