NAKSHATRESTI YAGAM COMMENCES IN DHARMAGIRI

Tirumala, 15 November 2016: The 34-day unique Nakshatresti Yagam commenced with religious fervour in Dharmagiri Veda Adhyayana Samstha in Tirumala on Tuesday.

Among the various Vedic rituals, this particular Yagam is usually performed in rarest coincidence of the auspicious Krittika Star in the morning hours on Bahula Padyami day according to Hindu Almanac in the holy month of Krittika.

This Yagam will be performed for the wellbeing of entire humanity for 34 days evoking the blessings of the 27 prime stars in the constellation, Abhijit star, Moon, Usha, Ahoratra, Nakshatram Samanyam, Sun, Aditi and Lord Vishnu.

Meanwhile five ritwiks who are stalwarts in “Yaga Prakriya” will be performing this religious fete every day morning from 9am to 12noon from November 15 till December 18. The students of Veda Pathashala also participate in this religious programme as it will enhance their practical abilities.The Principal Sri KSS Avadhani, other faculty, students were also present.
