NAMA SANKEERTANA REJUVENATES THE DEVOTIONAL FERVOUR AMONG THE PILGRIMS

Tirumala, 7 October 2016: The entire premises of Tirumala resounded to the rhythmic tones of Nama Sankeertana rendered by the tens of thousands of people who converged in galleries all around the four mada streets on Friday under the expertise guidance of professional bhagavatars.

In connection with Garuda Seva, under the instructions of the TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, the special officer of All Projects Sri N Muktheswara designed an innovative programme “Nama Sankeertana”, involving the pilgrims also.

According to the officer, “As the pilgrims will be waiting since morning in the galleries to watch Garuda Vahana Seva which commences in the night, we have decided to engage them in the devotional waves through this Bhajan programme”, he added.

Meanwhile five renowned Bhajan teams were engaged to chant the Govinda Namas in unison. Each Bhajan group performed this Nama Sankeertana from the specialised vedikas located in the four mada streets, making the waiting pilgrims also chant the divine names.

Among the Bhajan troupes, Sri Dasari Kasi Vi. VC Bc swanath from Kodanda RAMA Swamy Bhajan Samaj carried out the programme from Sri Pedda Tirumalacharya Vedika with his 15-member team. While in Tarigonds Vengamamba Vedika, Sri R Rajkumar and his team of another 15 from Sri Balamurali Bhajana Samajam of West Godavari rendered Nama Sankeertana.

Sri A Prasadachari of Sri Siva Sai Bhajana Mandali with a team of 15 members from Gadwal of Mehaboobnagar performed from Purandhara Dasa Vedika, Jonnalagadda Satya Sri Ram and his team of 11 from Hyderabad performed on Annamacharya Vedika while Rajasimha Bhagavtar from Chennai with his team of ten performed on Tyagaraja Vedika.

For this programme over 100 speakers have been arranged and the Tirumala hills which resonated to the rhythmic sounds of the Bhajan beat.
