NO SPECULATIONS ON REMOVAL OF GOLLAMANDAPAM-TIRUMALA JEO
TIRUMALA, NOV 27: Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju ruled out the rumours which made waves about the removal of historical Gollamandapam located in front of Srivari temple in Tirumala.
Addressing media persons in Tirumala on Wednesday evening in his chambers at Gokulam guest house putting an end to the speculations JEO clarified that TTD has not taken any such decision to remove the age-old structure. However he said that a committee of geologists who visited site during last year suggested that the ancient structure is in the verge of danger. “To prevent any untoward incident, we have only started bracing works to reduce the risk vulnerability of Gollamandapam and nothing else”, he asserted.
The JEO adding further said, the Mandapam has sentimental association with one community of people and we have been negotiating with the representatives of the community which are still under preliminary stage only. TTD will never take any such step that would hurt the sentiments of the devotees”, he reiterated.
