Tirupati, September 20: As an act of precaution the TTD has decided to ban plying of two-wheelers to Tirumala on the day of Garudotsavam, slated for September 22.
Disclosing this to newsmen at the Padmavati Guest house today that Sri K S Srinivasa Raju, the JEO ( Tirumala) of TTD said that two-wheelers will not be allowed to use the ghat road to Tirumala from midnight of September 21 to 6.00 AM of September 23.
He said that the RTC has been directed to run buses at the frequency of One per one minute to cater to the devotees influx for the Garudotsavam and the APSRTC has agreed to operate counters at 12 locations in Tirupati town.
He said the two-wheelers could be parked near the Balaji bus stand near Alipiri and near Srivati Mettu and they would be allowed up to Anna Rao circle, Kapilathirtham, Vedic University and Ruia Hospital. ‘We will operate free buses from the Railway station RTC bus stand upto Alipiri and Srivari Mettu on the day. for benefit of devotees coming by walk to Tirumala “said Srinivasa Raju.
He said special galleries were all around Mada streets which will be thrown open for the public to occupy from 2.00 PM onwards. The TTD has made elaborate arrangements for the supply of Anna Prasadam, buttermilk, drinking water. Special security arrangements have been made to ensure the safe journey of all foot walkers who come in large number on Garudotsava day ‘said the JEO.
He said coordination with all department has been organised to make the Garudotsavam a grand success. He also appealed to devotees to refrain from throwing stones at the Vahanam as it might injure the priests and also the Vahanam carriers. ‘Devotees should put their contributions in the HUndi ‘he said.
