NON-STOP HARIKATHA PARAYANA ON 150TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF ADIBHATLA

Tirupati, 17 August 2014:The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devsthanams(TTDs) is all set to give a befitting tribute to Harikatha Pitamaha-Sri Adibhatla Narayanadas on his 150th Birth Anniversary by organizing 24-hour non-stop “Ahoratra Mahabharatha Harikatha Gana Yagnam” in Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati on Thursday.

This fete which begins on 21st August by 11am will conclude on 22nd August by 11am with 12 Harikatha exponents exhibiting their skills. Meanwhile TTD has made elaborate arrangements to observe the 150th Birth Anniversary of the versatile Harikatha Parayanadar with week- long celebrations in Mahati auditorium which will commence on August 18 and conclude on August 24. The special programme by TTD will take place under the aegis of SV Music and Dance College. TTD will also felicitate famous Harikatha Parayanadars during the occasion and there will Harikatha Programmes every day between 6pm to 10pm.

Sri Maddajjada Adibhatla Narayana Das was born on August 31 in the year 1864 in Vizianagaram district to Smt Lakshmi Narasamba and Vekatasayana couple. He was a great harikatha bhagavatar and penned various books and composed music to various kritis. His overall talent mused many people and inspired many to take Harikatha as a profession. Narayanadas has written Janaki Sapatham, Bhakta Markandeya Charitra, Rukmini Kalyanam, Savitri Charitra and many others which were some of the masterpieces of his talent. He had the title “Panchamukheswara” for exhibiting five styles of Harikatha layas in a single go.
