PAVITHROTSAVAM AT SV TEMPLE IN BANGALORE

Tirupati, 19 September 2016: The holy and religious event of Pavitrotsavam is scheduled to be performed at the Sri Venkateswara swami temple at Bangalore from October 26-28 for which Ankurarpanam will be conducted on October 25th.

As per vedic traditions Pavitrotsavam is performed annually in temples to ward off lapses caused by either temple staff, priests or even devotees to protect the sanctity of the temple and divine powers of the idols. The temple Shuddi and Punya havachanam are the main rituals that are performed as part of the Pavitrotsavam.

On October 25th on the day of Akurarpanam, the Senadhipati utsavam is performed.

On October 26th morning Vastu homa, Raksha bandhana and in the night Pavitra Pratistha rituals are performed. On October 27 utsava idols of Swami and his consorts, were given Snapana Thirumanjanam and pavitra were offered to the Vimana prakaram and Dwajasthambam.

On the final day October 28, snapana thirumanjanam is offered to utsava idols in the morning and Unjal seva in the evening and finally Purnahuti is performed at night celestial event. Devotees can participate in the event by purchasing a ticket of Rs 500 (for two adults) and beget one Uttariya, One blouse,vada and Pavitra as prasadam.

In view of the Pavitrotsavam daily arjitha Kalyanotsavam will be suspended from October 24 to 26.
