PAVITHROTSAVAM CONCLUDES WITH MAHA PURNAHUTHI

Tirumala, 16 August 2016: The annual three day sacred event of Pavitrotsavam concluded today with the ceremonial conduction of the Maha purnahuti ritual inside the Srivari Temple.

Just like last two days of Pavitrotsavam the Vedic pundits conducted Homas and other rituals at the Yagashala inside the Srivari Temple from 9am to 11 am. The utsava idols of Malayappaswamy and his consorts were worshipped with cow milk, coconut water, curd, honey and turmeric. Doopa and Deepa Harati were also performed.

The TTD board members Sri AV Ramana, Sri Bhanuprakash Reddy, Sri Arikala Narsa Reddy and Templde DyEO Sri Kodandarama Rao and Peishkar Sri R Selvam participated in the concluding ceremony.

After Vishesha Puja in the afternoon the utsava idols were taken out in a procession on the mada streets so that the devotees who thronged the temple shrine were able to get the Lords blessings.

After the Purnahuti ritual the utsava deity of Malayappa swamy and his consorts Bhudevi and Sridevi will enter the temple via the Vimana pradakshina marking the completion of the Pavitrotsavam.

In view of the Pavitrotsavam the routine arjita sevas in the Srivari temple like the Astadala pada padmarathana, Kalyanotsavam, Arjita Brahmotsavam, Unjal seva, Vasantotsavam, Sahasra deepalankara sevas were suspended by the TTD on Tuesday also. The routine Archana and Thomala sevas for the deity will be performed in Ekanta on these days.
