PAVITRAROPANA PERFORMED IN SRI KODANDA RAMA SWAMY TEMPLE

Tirupati, 11 August 2015: As a part of the ongoing three-day annual festival of Pavitrotsavams in Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple in Tirupati, the sacred Pavitra Malas have been offered to the deities on Tuesday.

The Jayakhya Samhita explains that pavitra protects one from evil. The Pavitra Aaropana was performed by the temple priests on the second day which means adorning the deity with pavitra – sanctified garlands of colourful silk threads, as an integral part of the three day religious fete on Tuesday amidst the chanting of vedic mantras.

Deputy EO Sri Bhupathi Reddy, Superintendent Sri Umamaheswar Reddy and others were also present.
