PAVITROTSAVAMS IN KAPILATEERTHAM FROM JULY 9

Tirupati, 23 June 2014: The three-day annual pavitrotsavams are scheduled to take place in Lord Shiva temple at Kapilateertham from July 9 to 11 with ankurarpanam on July 8 as per Saivagama.

Usually this yearly ritual is celebrated to wipe of the sins that were performed by the pilgrims, temple staff and archakas either knowingly or unknowingly while performing the rituals through the year.

The pavitrotsavams are performed in such a way that they will conclude on the asterism of Chaturdasi.

The five main processional deities of Sri Kapileswara Swamy, Sri Kamakchamma, Sri VighneswaraSwamy, Sri Subramanyaswamy, Sri Chandikeshwara Swamy will be rendered special abhishekam every day during these three days in Kalyana Mandapam.

The grishasta pilgrims who are willing to take part in this can pay Rs.500 on which a couple will be allowed.
