PILGRIM RUSH CONTINUES IN TIRUMALA

TTD RESTRICTS VIP BREAK TO PROTOCOL ON MONDAY OWING TO HEAVY RUSH

Tirumala, 28 May,2017: The pilgrim rush has been continuing in Tirumala from the past fifteen days and reached its peak on Sunday as the summer vacation is coming to an end soon.

Owing to heavy rush TTD has cancelled VIP break Darshan even on Monday and limited it only to protocol VIPs alone. Briefing the same to media, Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju on Sunday said, unprecedented pilgrim rush has been continuing in Tirumala from the past fortnight. We are already restricted VIP break Darshan only to protocol VIPs during week ends. But as the pilgrim rush is continuing even on week days, we have restricted break Darshan to protocol VIPs even on Monday. This decision has been taken in the larger interests of common pilgrims. I request the devotees to cooperate with TTD”, he added.

Later the JEO inspected the Narayanagiri Gardens where the Sarva Darshanam and Divya Darshanam lines have extended to outside. He instructed the officials concerned to make necessary arrangements of food and beverages to the devotees waiting in queue lines in a continuous Manner.

Meanwhile the Srivari Seva volunteers have been deployed to distribute food, water, milk to devotees in queue lines. Some volunteers have also been deputed to make announcements in Telugu and Tamil to guide pilgrims in the respective Darshan queue lines.

Along with JEO VGO Sri Ravindra Reddy, Special Officer Annaprasadam Smt Chenchulakshmi, Health Officer Dr Sermista and others were also present.
