PREZ PRAYS HILL LORD FOR WELLBEING OF ENTIRE HUMANITY

Tirumala, 1 July 2015: His Excellency, the President of India. Dr Pranab Mukherjee who had offered prayers in the world famous hill shrine of Universal Lord Venkateswara on Wednesday along with his son Sri Abhijeet Mukherjee.

Speaking on this occasion he said he is energised every time he comes to Tirumala. “The very sight of Lord energises me every time I visit this holy place and I prayed Him to bestow His divine blessings on the entire humanity”, he maintained.

The President and His entourage accompanied by Hon’ble Governor of AP and TS Sri ESL Narasimhan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri N Chandra Babu Naidu arrived to Tirumala shrine by 2.05pm. On his arrival he was welcomed by TTD Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamoorthy, TTD Executive Officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao, Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju and was rendered traditional welcome with “Isthikaphal” amidst the vedic chant by temple priests and Mangala Vaidyam.

Later the first citizen of India dressed in traditional dress as per the custom of the temple had darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

One of the chief priests of Tirumala temple, Dr AV Ramana Deekshitulu explained to the Honourable President about the importance of the Presiding deity, the ornaments adorned to Him, different idols in Sannidhi including Bhoga Sreenivasa Murthy, utsavarulu of Sri Bhu Sametha Sri Malayappa Swamy, Sri Rukmini Satyabhama sametha Sri Krishnaswamy, Seetha Lakshmana sametha Sri Ramulavaru, Sri Ugra Sreenivasa Murthy and the mythological importance of Tirumala temple.

After darshan of Lord, the President was given holy water – Teertham, Melchat Seshavastram and was extended Satari honours. HH Sri Pedda Jiyangar and Sri Chinna Jiyangar of Tirumala were also present.

The President later had darshan of sub-shrines including Vakulamata, Vimana Venkateswara, Bhashyakarulu, Sri Yoga Narasimha Swamy and made the offerings in Srivari Hundi.

Later, he along with the AP Governor, AP CM and other delegates was rendered Vedasirvachanam in Ranganayakula Mandapam by scholarly Vedic Pundits.

TTD Chairman, TTD EO and Tirumala JEO have offered prasadams, lamination photo of Lord to the country’s first citizen.

Earlier he visited Sri Bhu Varaha Swamy temple following the temple tradition which is in vogue since several centuries. Before offering prayers to Adivaraha, he also paved visit to Swamy Pushkarini and sprinkled holy waters over his head.

Ministers of AP cabinet, Sri Narayana, Sri B Gopalakrishna Reddy, MLC Sri G Sreenivasulu, Chief Secretary of AP Sri IYR Krishna Rao, DGP of AP Sri Ramudu,TTD Board members and other delegates were also present.
