PRIORITY TO ENHANCE VEDIC STUDIES-TTD EO

TIRUMALA, 1 August 2014: TTD EO Sri MG Gopal on Friday advocated that one of the top priorities of TTD is to enhance Vedic education and bring back the past glory to Vedic Studies in the country.

Addressing the Convocation Ceremony of Dharmagiri Veda Pathashala in Tirumala, the TTD EO said, TTD as a part of its priority to enhance vedic knowledge has started Kumara-Adhyapaka Scheme, Agnihotra Pension scheme etc.

He said “Today there is a large scope for the Vedic Students across the world. Lots of Hindu Temples and Shrines are mushrooming even in foreign countries and there is a dearth of archakas. Such gaps could be filled by our students if they excel in Vedic studies”, he added.

The EO called upon the the vedic students to go for civil examination training after completing their vedic studies. “You have many number of avenues to chose your career even if you take up vedic studies”, he maintained.

Later the VC of Sri Venkateswara Vedic University Sri KE Devanathan said, studying vedas should be taken up as a “Tapasya”(penance). The students who studied here should bring good name to the institution.

Speaking on this occasion the principal Sri KSS Avadhani said, the students who acquired knowledge in the have settled in various top posts across the country.

Meanwhile certificates have been distributed to 61 students hailing from 12 different disciplines as a part of convocation. A total sum of Rs.1.50cr have been distributed as a stipend amount to all the students by TTD.
