PRIVILEGES COMMITTEE LAUDS TTD FOR PRO PILGRIM AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

TIRUPATI, MARCH 3: The APCLC Committee for Privileges lauded the pro pilgrim and social activities taken up by TTD and asked the TTD mandarins to come up more innovative programmes.

The committee reviewed with TTD officials on various developmental activities for over two hours under the chairmanship of the committee headed by Smt.Samantakamani in SPRH in Tirupati on Tuesday. TTD EO Dr. D Sambasiva Rao along wi JEOs Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju and Sri P Bhaskar briefed the committee on various pro pilgrim measures taken up by TTD to ensure hassle free stay and darshan to multitude of visiting pilgrims in Tirumala.

The top brass officials also briefed the committee on various dharmic and spiritual programmes taken up by HDPP, Svbc and TTD spiritual magazine and books and also some innovative programmes including Subhapradam, Sadacharam, Srinivasa Kalyanams, Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavams etc. They also briefed on various charitable activities taken up by TTD including Shravanam, BIRRD, SVIMS hospitals etc. They said TTD is planning to operate a special project exclusively for mentally retarded children also on the lines of Shravanam project.

Later addressing press conference the chairman of the committee said, TTD has been a great asset not only to the state of Andhra Pradesh but also to the country and in fact across the world for being the biggest religious and social Hindu spiritual institution. “We compliment the various programmes undertaken by TTD. However we asked them to come up with more and more innovative programmes especially in rural areas. We also asked them to include Kasturba schools also under Subhapradam. Like wise suggested TTD to supply pustaka Prasadam books to all the schools in rural areas”, the chairman added.

Meanwhile the committee members includes MLCs Sri V Balasubramanyam, Sri V Narayana Reddy, Dr Geyanand, Smt Indira, senior officers of Ttd were also present.
