PROCESSION OF SAHASRA KASULA HARAM

Tiruchanur, Dec 3: The procession of Sahasra Kasula Mala from Tirumala to Tiruchanoor has taken place on Tuesday morning to adorn Goddess Padmavathi on the auspicious occasion of Gaja Vahanam which is set to take place on Tuesday evening as a part of the ongoing nine day annual karthika brahmotsavams of Goddess Padmavathi at Tiruchanoor.

Being one of the most famous ornaments in the jewel treasury of Lord Venkateswara – the Sahasra Kasula Haramis usually decorated to Lord Malayappa Swamy on Garuda Seva day during annual brahmotsavams as well during Pournami Garuda Seva every month.

Earlier during the day, the procession of Haram started from Tirumala where in TTD Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju took part on the celestial occasion. After reaching Pasupu Mandapam in Tiruchanoor, Tirumala JEO handed over the jewel to his Tirupati counterpart Sri P Bhaskar. The jewel was taken on a procession along the four mada streets of Tiruchanoor before being kept at the holy feet of Goddess Padmavathi for Her divine blessings.

TTD Chairman Sri K Bapiraju and TTD EO Sri MG Gopal also took part in this procession.

This special jewel will be decorated to Goddess during Gaja Vahanam on Tuesday evening as well during Garuda Vahanam which takes place on Wednesday evening.
