PURANDHARA DASA KEERTANS ARE THE ESSENCE OF VEDAS-SEER

Tirupati, 21 January 2017: The sankeertans penned by Kannada Padakavitha Pitamaha, saint poet Sri Purandhara Dasa were the essence of Vedas, advocated the pontiff of Mantralaya Mutt, HH Sri Subudendrateertha Swami.

In his religious speech on the occasion of Metlotsavam at Alipiri Padala Mandapam during the wee hours on Saturday, the seer said, in order make aware the essence of vedas to common man, the saint poet has penned over 4.50lakh keertans during his life span.

“Many saints, seers, poets, emperors including Vyasaraya, Purandhara Dasa, Annamaiah, Sri Krishna Deva Raya and many more have trekked the Hills and expressed their devotion to Lord Venkateswara. The Dasa Project has been successfully carrying out the legacy of our great ancestors through this Traimasika Metlotsavam”, he added.

Later the project special officer Dr PR Anandateerthacharyulu said, over 3000 bhajan brinda members have took part in this auspicious event. “We should propagate the Srinivasa Mahatya in our places also”, he maintained.

Meanwhile the Bhajana Mandali members expressed their immense pleasure in taking part in this religious event. Smt Vijayalakhsmi from Sripadarajara Mandali of Bellary said she has been taking part in this programme from the past seven years. “I am a group II officer in the Government of Karnataka. But I make myself some time to take part in this tremendous spiritual programme which revamps my energy to carryout my office work with ease with the blessings of Lord Venkateswara”, she expressed.
