PUSHKARA YATRA VEHICLE FLAGGED OFF IN TIRUMALA

Tirumala, 3 August 2016: The Pushkara Yatra Vehicle which is meant to carry the sacred puja items and Sare to Krishnavenamma for the ensuing Krishna Pushkarams in Vijayawada has been flagged off in a ceremonial manner in Tirumala on Wednesday.

TTD Trust Board Chief Dr Ch Krishnamurthy and TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao took part in this spiritual fete. Earlier the sacred material were placed at the holy feet of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala and later carried upto Vaibhavotsava Mandapam where the material will be transported to Vijayawada in a shobha Yatra.

Speaking on this occasion the Chairman said, TTD is all set for the big river fete which is scheduled from August 12-23. “This sacred sare will reach the PWD grounds where the replica temple of Lord Venkateswara has been set up by TTD a day before the opening of the temple on August 7. TTD has also done elaborate Annaprasadam arrangements for the 12 day festival where in over one lakh devotees will be served annaprasadams”, he added.

The EO said, the Pushkara Yatra Vehicle which is flagged from Tirumala will reach Vijaywada PWD grounds covering the temple towns of Tiruchanoor, Vontimitta, Mahanandi, Srisailam, Mangalagiri, Amaravathi before it reaches the replica temple set up by TTD in PWD grounds of Vijayawada.

TTD Trust Board Member Sri Ananta, Temple DyEO Sri Rama Rao, Peishkar Sri R Selvam and others were also present.
