PUSHPAYAGAM IN TIRUMALA TEMPLE ON NOV 7

Tirumala, 3 November 2016: The annual pushpayagam will be observed in the shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on November 7. This event usually takes place with the advent of auspicious Shravana Nakshatram which falls soon after the completion of annual brahmotsavams of Lord in the holy month of Karthika.

This unique festival of flowers is performed as annual festival where in the processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy flanked by his two consorts takes celestial floral bath with about seven tonnes of 18 varieties of sacred traditional flowers.

This festival which was in practice in 15th Century, was reinstated by TTDs in 1980s. It will be a feast to watch this celestial event which takes place between 1pm to 5pm. TTD has cancelled all arjitha sevas in connection with this event on this day.
