RECORD RS 17.30 CRORE HUNDI COLLECTIONS IN BTU- TEMPLE DYEO

Tirumala, 10 October 2016: A record collection of Rs.17.30 crore has been collected in the seven days of the Brahmotsavam-2016, a hike of Rs 4 crores over previous year, has mirrored the growing devotion and number of pilgrims visiting Tirumala to participate in the celestial event.

Briefing newsmen, Sri G. Kodandarama Rao, the Dy EO of Srivari Temple, told reporters at the Media centre in Tirumala on Monday that about 5.9 lakh devotees had darshan of Lord Venkateswara in the last seven days. ‘But for the performance of rituals to the deity, the temple was kept open through out the day on all days during this year brahmotsavams, giving more darshan space to common pilgrims”, he said.

He said on the directions of the TTD EO Dr Sambasiva Rao, priority was to give darshan for the common devotees and the VIP break darshan had also been rigidly cut short.

He said TTD had sold nearly 25.30 lakh laddus so far and had maintained a buffer stock of 7 lakh laddus for benefit of devotees during Brahmotsavams.The galleries around the Mada street was also geared up to accommodate nearly 2.25 lakh devotees for viewing the vahana sevas. Special flower, fruit decorations spectacular jewels donated by devotees were decorated to the deities which was the focus this year.

Besides TTD PRO Dr T Ravi the Potu Peishkar Sri P.Ashok Kumar also participated in the media interaction.
