RICE MILLERS ASSOCIATION TO SUPPLY RICE TO TTD FOR Rs.35 PER KILO FROM JULY TO SEPTEMBER

TIRUPATI, JUNE 30: The Rice Millers Association of AP and TS have signalled positive to supply rice to TTD for Rs.35 per kilo in 60:40 ratio respectively for the next three months after the fruitful negotiations held by TTD Trust Board Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy.

Elaborate negotiations was held with the rice millers of the two telugu speaking States at Madhavam complex in Tirupati on Tuesday by TTD Trust Board Chief. The rice millers have agreed to provide rice at a subsidised rate of Rs. 35 per kilo instead of the present value of Rs.36 .50 per kilo to TTD.

While AP rice millers have agreed to supply 3.06 Lakh kilos, the TS rice millers will provide 2.04 Lakh kilos to match the requirement of 5.10 Lakh kilos for TTD per month from July to September this year.

The TTD board chief said every day TTD has been providing free food to not less than one Lakh pilgrims. “There is need to provide more qualitative food to more pilgrims as the pilgrim rush to Tirumala is incredibly increasing day by day”, he expressed.

He also thanked the associations of both the states for immediately considering his request to provide qualitative rice at a subsidised price.

Procurement GM Sri Srinivasa Rao, DyEO Warehouse Sri Chalapathi Babu, AP Rice Millers Association president Sri G Venkateswara Rao, TS Rice millers association Vice President Sri Rajeswara Rao and other office bearers of both the associations took part in this meeting.
