RICH TRIBUTES PAID TO SADHU SUBRAHMANYA SASTRY

Tirupati, 10 Sep. 15: TTD TIRUPATI JEO Sri P Bhaskar on Thursday paid rich tributes to the live size statue of Sri Sadhu Subrahmanya Shastry, the scholarly epigraphist of TTD on his 35th Death Anniversary.

The JEO attributed the glory and popularity of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTDs) as a result of the intensive research carried out by Sri Shastry who had brought out the great history of Tirumala by solving out 1167 inscriptions. “Having served as temple Peishkar in TTD, Sri Shastry took keen interest in discovering the literary treasure about some interesting facts related to the development of Tirumala and other sub-shrines of TTD engraved on the inscriptions and copper plates and carried out a stupendous research work on it. He brought out the facts in the form of several volumes and also brought to light the sankeertans of Tallapaka Annamacharya”, JEO added.

Later Sri Shastry’s youngest daughter smt Girija Devi donated Rs.1lakh to SV Veda Parirakshana Trust. The DD has been handed over to TIRUPATI jeo.
