SAINT TYAGARAJA IMMORTALISED CARNATIC MUSIC-TTD EO

Tirumala, 9 June 2014: TTD EO Sri MG Gopal on Monday advocated that Nada Brahma, Sangeetha Jagadguru Saint music composer Sri Thyagaraja Swamy immortalised carnatic music with this stupendous compositions and became the “Father of Carnatic Sangeet”.

Addressing the 247th Jayanthi Aradhanotsavams held at kalyanavedika under the aegis of HDPP and SV Music and Dance college of TTD in Tirumala on Monday evening, the EO said, the Thyagaraja Aradhanotsavams is being observed as a religious musical fare in Tiruvayur of Tamilnadu which was in vogue since several decades. “Though Thyagayya is a Telugu man, he became universal with his rare musical compositions”, he added.

The EO said, TTD has been observing Thyagaraja Aradhanotsavams in Tirumala from the past two years on his birth anniversary and the same will be continued in future also.

Meanwhile over 250 renowned carnatic exponents from southern India rendered the “Thyagaraja Pancharatna Kritis” including “Jagadananda Karaka”, “Duduku Gala”, “Sadhinchene Manasa”, “Kanakana Ruchira” and “Endaro Mahanubhavulu” as Gosthi Gana and enthralled the music lovers.

On the other hand, renowned painter Sri Kuchi painted the divine themes as per the musical compositions of Saint Thyagaraja while they were being rendered by the artistes.

Even the mother nature also seemed to have mused by the divine musical compositions of Saint Thyagaraja as there was a heavy down pour in Tirumala as long as the musical fete is on.

Supreme Court Judges Justice H.L.Dattu, Justice NV Ramana, JEO Tirumala Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, SV Music and Dance College Principal Smt Padmavathi and other officials were also present.
