“SARASWATHI YAGAM PERFORMED IN TIRUPATI”

TIRUPATI, FEB 09, 2014:  To bestow the blessings of Goddess Sarawathi-the deity of wisdom on the students especially for those who are getting ready for Tenth and Inter public exams, the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad (HDPP) wing of TTD has organised “Saraswathi Yagam” in Tirupati on Sunday.

The Ramachandra Pushkarini premises adorned a festive look when special homams were performed in front of the processional deities of Lord Sri Rama, Goddess Sita Devi and Lord Lakshmana from morning till noon. The students hailing from different schools took part in this ritual meant to appease Goddess Saraswathi to bless the students who are preparing for the exams for their success.

TTD EO Sri MG Gopal who took part in this religious fete said, this programme is exclusively meant for the students to come out with flying colours not only in their academics but also in their attitude which is very much important for them to become good citizens of the country. He complimented HDPP for conducting condition based religious programmes. He later distributed the “Vidya Kankanams”, holy threads to the students.

Earlier speaking on this occasion Tirupati JEO Sri Pola Bhaskar said that this yagam will be performed in all the district head quarters from next year onwards for the sake of the students.

Meanwhile TTD Agama Advisor Dr Vedantam Vishnubhattacharyulu made the  students to chant Saraswathi Mahamantram-

“Om Im Hreem Shreem Maha Saraswathyaey Namaha

Mahyam Medhaam Pragnaam Prayachha!”

He told the students to chant this holy mantra four times a day to get fruitful results in their academics.

TTD EO released a religious book by name “Vaikhanasa Mahima Manjanri”. Later prasadams were distributed to the students, teachers and parents.

JEO Sri Pola Bhaskar, HDPP Special Officer Sri B Raghunath, HDPP Dy EO Sri Umapathi Reddy and others were also present.
