SHOBHA YATRA OF LAKSHMI KASULA HARAM

TIRUCHANOOR, NOV 23: The “Shobha Yatra” of Lakshmi Kasula Haram brought from the treasury of Lord Venkateswara took place amidst religious fervour on Sunday from Urban Haat to Tiruchanoor temple.

Earlier, special puja has been performed to this jewel and later taken for a procession along the four mada streets and reached Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple in Tirumala on Sunday morning. Temple Deputy EO Sri C Ramana and other temple staff took part in the procession.

Later the jewel is brought to Tirupati in a vehicle which was received by Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju. He handed over the jewel to his Tirupati counterpart Sri P.Bhaskar. At Pasupu Mandapam in Tiruchanoor, the Tirupati JEO handed over the jewel to Executive Officer Sri M G Gopal who took the jewel to the temple in “Shobha Yatra” from Pasuspu Mandapam to temple along with temple staff and priests.

This jewel bearing 500 coins with the image of Goddess Lakshmi Devi in four rows will be decorated to Goddess Padmavathi Devi as She rides on Her favourite vehicle Gaja Vahanam on Sunday evening.
