SHOBHAYATRA OF JEWELS PERFORMED

Tirupati, 15 Jun. 17: The Shobha Yatra of precious jewels gifted from Tirumala temple treasury to Lord Sri Kodandarama Rama Swamy temple in Tirupati took place in a celestial manner with TTD EO Sri Anil kumar Singhal and JEOs Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju and Sri Pola Bhaskar taking part in this fete.

The ceremonial event took place with religious fervour on Thursday evening. The jewels brought from Tirumala were taken to Anjaneya Swamy temple located opposite Sri Kodandarama shrine. From there Shobha Yatra was performed and the jewels were presented to presiding deity of Lord Sri Rama. Meanwhile the series of jewels included Chandravanki Kante, Tulasi Mala, Gajalakshmi Patakam, six rows Yagnopaveetham, Lakshmi Kasula Mala, Bottu Mangalyam and Brahmamudi Patakam. All these jewels weighed around three kilos worth approximately Rs.80lakhs will be adorned to different deities in the temple.

Later Maha Purnahuti was performed in the Yagashala in temple. In the night Sayanadhivasam, Hotra Prasamsanam will be performed by Vedic scholars and temple priests.

On June 16 Maha Samprokshanam will be performed between 6am and 7:30am in the auspicious Mithuna Lagnam. The devotees will be allowed for Darshan from 10:30amonwards. Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam will be performed between 5pm and 7pm on Friday followed by Pedda Sesha Vahanam.
