SILK VASTRAMS GIFTED TO KOLHAPUR MAHALAKSHMI DEVI

Tirumala 2 October 2014: The Silk Vastrams of from Lord Venkateswara have been gifted to His beloved Consort Sri Mahalakshmi Devi in temple city of Kolhapur amidst a grand traditional street procession on Thursday in connection with Durgastami.

The Potu Peishkar of Sri Vari Temple Sri Kesava Raju participated in the colourful procession which started at 11am from Bhavani Mandap towards Kolhapur temple. The streets of the famous temple city of Goddess Mahalakshmi Devi echoed with Govinda namas, devotional bhajans and traditional art forms. Hundreds of local devotees took part in this religious fete.

Western Maharashtra Devasthanam Samithi trustees Sri Pramod Patil, Resident District Collector Sri Sanjay Pawar, Mahalakshmi Bhakth Mandal Sri S.K.Kulkarni and Secretary Sri Raju Mavekari also took part in the procession.
