“SOWBHAGYAM” OFF TO A COLOURFUL START IN TIRUCHANOOR

TIRUPATI, NOV 22: With an aim to invite all the women devotees who are residing in and around temple towns of Tirupati and Tiruchanoor to the annual nine day mega event of Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Brahmotsavams that is scheduled to begin from November 29 to December 7, the novel programme designed by TTD, “Sowbhagyam” has been observed with religious fervour amidst grand procession at Tiruchanoor on Friday.

Hundreds of women employees of TTD led by TTD Chairman Sri K Bapiraju couple and Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar, carried vermilion, turmeric and bangles which are considered to be the main ingredients of “Sowbhagyam” programme from Panchami Mandapam located at Padma Pushkarini and went on a procession along the mada streets to Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru temple. Later they were placed at the holy feet of the presiding deity of Goddess Padmavathi Devi for Her divine blessings.

Addressing this ceremonious occasion TTD Chairman said “Women occupies a great and pride place in Indian society especially in Hindu Sanatana Dharma as the people strongly believe that a country will prosper only when the woman of household is happy. India has shown the world the real women power”, he added. Later he said these holy items will be distributed in about 108 temples located in and around temple cities of Tirupati and Tiruchanoor from November 22 to November 27 from 9am till evening, inviting women devotees to take part in the mega religious event.

Later the JEO called upon the women employees to participate in this programme in a big way and do their part in the publicity activity by distributing the bangles and kumkum to women devotees and inviting them for Brahmotsavams.

Spl Officer DPP Sri Raghunath, DyEO’s Sri Siva Reddy, Sri Bhaskar Reddy, Smt. Chenchu Lakshmi, AEO Smt Nagarathanam and others took part.
