“SPIRITUALITY IS ESSENTIAL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF HOLISTIC HUMANITY”-TIRUPATI JEO SRI P BHASKAR

TIRUPATI, JAN 23: Spirituality is key to holistic health and is essential to develop a healthy society, said TTDs Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar.

Addressing the inaugural session of the 50th National and International Conference of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology on the theme “Applied Psychology and Spirituality-Contribution to Health, Happiness, Professions and Leadership” at Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati on Friday, the JEO said, in this fast growing and mechanical world today, spirituality helps the people to have good mental and physical health which is the need of the hour. Spirituality is the base of every individual in India whatsoever the religion might be. India has shown the world the importance of spirituality to lead an ethical life through its immense spiritual strength. We have shown the world the intellectual, emotional, social, physical, artistic, creative and spiritual potentials through the Holistic Education since ages and the same trend should continue in future also to have a healthy society”, he added.

Later he complimented the Principal Smt Gnanakumari of SPW Degree and PG college and her organising team for having organised this mammoth conference on a challenging subject by inviting international experts.

Prof Alena Slezackova of Czech Republic, faculty of Arts, Dept. of Psychology in Masaryk University delivered the key note address on Spirituality and its meaningfulness. Prof Erika E Voigt of Germany, Dr K Ramachandra, Director DIPR, New Delhi, Dr Jagadish, Director BIRRD, Tirupati also spoke on different issues relating to spirituality and psychology.

Prof W Rajendra, VC Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Prof Ravi Gunthe, President IAAP, Dr A Vijay Kumar, DEO TTDs, Dr Uma Rani, organising secretary were also present.
