SRAVANAM PROJECT WILL BE ENHANCED FURTHER-TTD EO

Tirupati, 29 Jan. 15: The activity of the prestigious Shravanam project will be enhanced to further levels in future as a part of the social responsibility of TTD, said TTD EO Sri D Samba Siva Rao.

The numero uno officer of TTD inspected Shravanam project which is located in Old Maternity Hospital premises on Thursday and distributed hearing aids and other equipments worth Rs.10lakhs which was donated by a Chennai-based donor to the infants and kids suffering from hearing problems.

Speaking on this occasion, the EO said, TTD has started this project in the year 2006 with just 14 infants and two teachers and now there are around 174 children undergoing treatment in all the Shravanam centres located in AP and Telengana.

He said TTD is not only a religious institute but also is a social reformer since it has been rendering yeoman service to the poor particularly the deprived sections of the society. “In future we may enhance our activity in the area of social service”, he maintained.

Later Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar said, TTD is contemplating to take care of mentally retarded children also on the lines of Shravanam. “A special committee will be constituted to take up the education, care and other necessities of these category of children and a complete action plan will be chartered out soon”, he maintained.
