SRI KALYANA VENKANNA TAKES CELESTIAL RIDE ON GOLDEN CHARIOT

Srinivasa Mangapuram, 19 May 2014: The annual Vasanthotsavam of Lord Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy witnessed a rare and unique procession of first of its kind in the history of the temple when the processional deity was taken for a celestial ride on the glittering golden chariot in the streets of the temple town.

Tens of thousands of devout thronged to see the grandeur of Lord along with his two Consorts on the beautifully decked, golden chariot.

Meanwhile the golden chariot is a new one in the vehicle band wagon of Lord Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy which will be henceforth used in every annual brahmotsavam and Vasanthotsavam. This chariot which was earlier used for the annual brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara for nearly 25 years was recently brought to Srinivasa Mangapuram since this chariot was replaced by a new one in Srivari temple at Tirumala.

The old golden chariot with its all new polished look set to serve Lord Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy in Srinivasa Mangapuram during the on going vasanthotsavams. On Monday evening, the denizens and pilgrims had an opportunity to cherish the procession of Swarnaratham which took place between 6pm to 7pm.

Earlier temple priests performed snapana tirumanajanam to processional deities inside the temple premises.

TTD EO Sri MG Gopal, JEO Sri Pola Bhaskar, Executive Engineer Sri Ngaeswara Rao,DyEO Sri Sridhar, AEO Sri Dhanajeyulu, Temple Staff and large number of devotees took part.
