Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy Temple Annual Brahmotsavam Begins- Dwajarohanam

Tirupati, 14 March 2010: Dwajarohanam‘ was performed in the temple, signalling the commencement of the nine-day annual `Brahmotsavam’ in Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy Temple in Tirupati on Sunday morning. The sacred yellow cloth flag with the imprint of Lord Garuda, the celestial carrier of Lord Maha Vishnu, was hoisted atop the golden flag post’Dwajasthambham’ situated inside the temple complex at the auspicious Mesha lagnam at 8.40am. amidst the traditional recitation of Vedic hymns by temple priests.
 
Prior to the divine ceremony, the processional deities of Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy, Seetha Devi and Lakshmana along with the Dwajapatam were taken around the mada streets encircling the shrine in a grand procession. It is believed Lord Garuda goes round the temple complex extending invitations to all gods, heavenly bodies, rishis and the entire devatha community to participate in the Brahmotsavam of Lord.
